Stephens is one of the top defensive catchers in the 2010 class and has been catching national level pitchers for years with the East Cobb summer program and at Lassiter High School. Stephens has quick, athletic actions behind the plate, excellent shifting ability and solid average to plus MLB arm strength. He compares with his Aflac All-American teammate Shane Rowland physically and defensively. Offensively, Stephens has a short, quick right handed swing and shows good line drive power along with the ability to adjust to off speed pitches. Stephens is a college all American type and could create some serious draft interest as well.
