Off the field with Chad...
Chad Thompson didn't start out as a star on El Toro's Varsity team. With hard work and a positive attitude to make the best of every opportunity, Chad has worked his way from relief pitcher to starter. Overcoming this obstacle took commitment to strength training and hard work to improve his mechanics. Chad's ‘work hard' mentality may be something he learned from Nolan Ryan – his Role model in baseball. While baseball takes up most of his days, Chad makes time to serve food to the underprivileged with his church. He also enjoys outdoor activities in his free time. Fishing, surfing and body boarding are among his favorite hobbies.

Chad considers his parents his Role models. "They have always been there for me through good and bad times."
