One on One with Ethan...
Ethan Carter is a right-handed pitcher from Newport News, VA. When he's not playing baseball, he'll spend time playing basketball, hanging out with friends and family or playing cards. Ethan is also involved with his community, he participates with Baseball Challenger Day – a baseball program for children.

Role models...
Ethan looks up to Derek Jeter for his leadership on and off the field.

Catch him before a game and you'll find him...
listening to his MP3 player.

In a few years, you might find him...
in Columbia, South Carolina. Ethan (verbally) committed early to The University of South Carolina before his junior year. It only took him one trip to the campus to make up his mind that Sarge Frye Field was where he wanted to be. His first visit to the campus was to watch the Gamecocks take on the Clemson Tigers; USC took home the win with a game-winning double in the bottom of the ninth. He fell in love with the campus and the atmosphere at the baseball game. “It's so loud, it's like you're at a football game. It's awesome.”

Overcoming challenges...
As a little league player, Ethan admits that he was not very coordinated, because he was very tall for his age. Even as a child, he had amazing determination – he worked with a trainer to learn how to work with his size and he eventually grew into his frame. The experience taught him how to work through difficult times and he feels that is what helped him get to this point in his career.

Hit PLAY on his MP3 player and you might hear...
either old or new school rap (it's a toss up between Tupac or 50 Cent).

He's kind of a big deal...
