Off the field with Ian...
Ian Krol is very involved in his community; he volunteers with camps run by Opportunity Through Baseball – an organization that teaches underprivileged children how to use baseball to say no to drugs and yes to discipline. He also volunteers with his mom at the Coach Care Center – a nonprofit organization that cares for children and their families. The care center provides a home-like setting for sick children who can't go home because of their fragile medical condition. Ian spends time with the patients, taking them to the playground, reading stories and watching movies.

Role models...
Ian's high school teammate – Jason David – is his Role model in baseball. After a serious car accident last summer, no one thought Jason would ever throw a baseball again. Jason had a long road to recovery after a broken neck, back and ribs, but worked hard and not only got back on the field, he started in left field and led the team in RBI's and home runs. Jason's experience taught Ian that you can accomplish anything with hard work and determination.
