Lakind is a square shouldered 6-2, 200 lb athlete from the Houston area who projects to get even stronger. He is one of the top hitting prospects in the class of 2010. The left handed hitter has outstanding hitting actions and a professional type approach at the plate. Lakind has a straight up balanced stance with an easy glide through the ball and very quick hands that are short and smooth to the ball. Lakind has the ability to both hit for high average and for power and has been compared to a young Todd Helton by scouts. Defensively, the left handed thrower has outstanding arm strength that could be wasted at first base and teams at higher levels will likely give him every chance to play right field if he maintains his agility. Lakind has a verbal commitment to University of Arkansas.
