Off the field with Keyvius...
In his spare time, Keyvius Sampson enjoys playing ping pong and pool with his brother, Tyler, and playing video games; He also volunteers at a local soup kitchen. He considers his greatest achievement to be the recognition he earned from his local newspaper as his hometown's best pitcher and being named an Aflac All-American. At Ocala Forest High, Keyvius also plays football and basketball.

Role models...
Keyvius considers his dad, Nate, and his guardian and coach, Scott Carpenter, to be his Role models. He looks up to MLB players Gregg Maddox and Josh Beckett because they are great pitchers with a good work ethic.

Overcoming obstacles...
Just a little over a year ago, Keyvius' mother passed away. His mom was his backbone and after she died he considered giving up on baseball all together. Once he thought about it, he realized that his mom would not have wanted him to give up on his career and the sport that he loves. Keyvius has since made it his goal to play in the MLB to make his mom smile.
