Off the field with Luke...
Troup County High School, Luke Bailey is a star on the diamond and has also been selected to mentor the underclassmen on his baseball team – an honor he considers his greatest off-field achievement. He enjoys working with his teammates to help them improve their skills and excel both on and off the field. His own Role model in baseball is fellow catcher Michael Barrett, because he plays the position well and also gives Luke good advice he can apply on and off the field. In his free time, Luke enjoys playing video games, riding four wheelers, fishing and playing wiffle ball.

He's kind of a big deal...
Luke's athletic achievements at Troup County this past season have truly been remarkable. At the beginning of the season, he played several games with a broken rib. Despite this injury, Luke still managed to set five offensive single season records – slugging percentage (1.082), total bases (105), RBI's (61), doubles (17) and home runs (13). While Luke has earned several state and national honors throughout his high school career, he feels that his greatest achievement came as a part of USA Baseball's 16U Youth National Team. In the team's win over Brazil for the gold at the 2007 World Youth Championship, Luke blasted a 2-1 pitch straightaway center for a two-run homer.
