Aviles is a long and projectable 6-4, 193 lb right hander from New York. He has a very athletic and balanced delivery and compares to fellow Aflac All-Americans Kevin Gausman and Aaron Sanchez in his smooth mechanics and effortless arm action. Aviles throws his fastball in the 90-93 mph range with more there when he gets stronger. His best pitch is a hard downer curveball that reaches 80+ mph at times and is a potential strikeout pitch at the highest levels. Aviles also has a good feel for a change up. He has given a verbal commitment to University of Florida and could be a premium draft pick.
