One on one with Scooter...
When he's not playing baseball, Scooter visits friends, goes to the beach or attends other sporting events. He considers his greatest achievements to be his selection as an Aflac All-American and winning a 2007 State Championship with his Sarasota High School Team. He set a personal goal last year while he was in San Diego for the 5th Annual Aflac Game to make the 2008 roster and is honored to have been selected and achieve that goal.

Role models...
Scooter's Role model in baseball is former Cincinnati Reds shortstop Barry Larkin because he is immensely talented and very fan friendly – he'd always toss a ball to Scooter at the games. His dad is his Role model in life. Scooter says, “My dad has given every spare minute of his free time to work with me on baseball. He played college ball but never made it to the big leagues and wants every opportunity for me that he didn't have. He's made me mentally tough to help me be successful. He taught me how to run, hit, field, throw and put it all together to be the player I am today”. Scooter's dad is a former Houston Astros Scout and is also a recent survivor of colon cancer – Scooter considers his dad to be his best friend.

Overcoming obstacles...
Scooter's size has always been his main obstacle. Growing up playing baseball, he was always the smallest on his team. His dad always told him to work twice as hard as everyone else to be successful. Although he's always been told he was too small to make it in baseball, Scooter is now starting to see all that hard work pay off.
