Austin is a 6-2, 200 lb catcher from Georgia with the athleticism and hitting ability to play almost any position on the field. His bat is his best present tool. Austin has excellent raw bat speed with a simple, short swing that generates surprising loft power. He projects as a potential middle of the order/run producing hitter at a premium defensive position. Austin's catching mechanics are still a bit raw, as he has spent significant time at third base and on the mound, but his tools are very good. He has plus raw arm strength and quick feet and has produced pop times in the 1.7's. He will be followed closely by the scouting community.
