Coach Omar Washington was selected in the 1990 MLB draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. He pitched in both the Phillies and the Boston Red Sox organizations.

Coach Washington continues to express his enthusiasm for baseball as the owner of a 40,000 sq. ft. baseball facility in Mesquite, TX where numerous draft picks have come to train. Coach Washington has trained with many top athletes, including Austin Jackson, Javier Guerra, Daryl Jones, Cody Railsback, Quinn Stewart, and Chance Corgan.

Coach Washington is currently in his 4th year as head coach at First Baptist Academy and has been involved with the Aflac All-American Game since its inception and is now in his 7th year with the game.
